Name: Dany
Age: 21
Contact: truebornstark@live.com / truebornstark on AIM
Preferred Method of Contact: AIM or E-MAIL. Either way works fine.
RPG Experience: Some, not tons. If you need links, I'll provide some.
Name: Humility Cooper by birth, after marriage Humility Chatterly - also went by Remembrance Sampson, Justice Keller, Chastity Martin, Mercy Howland and now Temperance Tilley
Aliases/Nickname: Grace Carver; those who are close with her might call her Tempe, Till, otherwise most either call her Grace or Gracie
Apparent Age: 26
Age and Date of Birth: 400 / March 11, 1619
Species: Vampire
Career: Business Owner; I was wondering if she could own her own nightclub? (If no, then she would like to own The Morningstar, please?) I filled this out for you -Name: Red Moon Rising, shortened to RMR by those who frequent it
Type: Nightclub (also, 3 stories, top 2 floors are apartments that Supernaturals may rent or own; the very top floor has the largest and most expensive apartments, where Grace would also live)
Owner: Grace Carver
Blurb: Not well known in human circles, this nightclub caters nearly exclusively to Supernaturals. That's not to say that humans can't stumble upon it, and they certainly won't be turned away at the door. But humans beware, at Red Moon Rising you're nothing more than a pleasant snack or source of entertainment.
Staff: Anything goes, manager, assistant manager, bartenders, waitresses, security, etc
Link: I've got nothing more at this point, but if this gets the green light, I'll provide more!
Current Residence: Red Moon Rising OR The Morningstar if RMR isn't approved.
Martial Status: Widower; Currently avoiding all romantic relationships
Sexual Preference: Straight (She tried the whole lesbian thing and found it really, really wasn't for her)
Able to connect to the Ether?: Yes; On the Ether, Grace is the gentlest of touches, like a gentle breeze barely grazing the skin. She brings with her the metallic tang of blood on your tongue, with the scent of jasmine floating around you. Her presence is nearly always calm, still and quiet like a cemetery in the dead of night.
Physical Description: Grace is fairly average in weight and height, and tends to wear heels that add to the 5'4" she is while standing flat on her feet. It's rare that she'll be seen outside of the comfort of her own home without heels on, typically accompanied by fashionable business style outfits. Skirts are most commonly seen, but it isn't unheard of for Grace to wear pants, or even jeans, so long as they're nice. Her appearance is rarely unkempt, as she believes that a leader should always put their best image forward. Her blonde hair, in the same vein, is most often pulled back in a low ponytail. Though she doesn't like wearing heavy makeup on her eyes, there are times when she does, tending to like alternating between making the blue or green in them stand out more brightly depending on her mood. Her favorite shade of lipstick is red, one that she'd call the color of blood.![]()

Distinguishing marks: A scar in the form of a cross (roughly one inch in width, two and a half in height) on her chest from an iron brand used specifically by her maker to mark his 'children.' She also has a tendency of wearing crosses on bracelets, or having a very small one stitched somewhere (usually a lapel or collar) on her clothes.
Abilities Like all vampires, Grace has enhanced strength and speed, quick reflexes, as well as acute senses. Of these, her reflexes and senses are her most valued assets. She's quicker to react than most, and her sense of smell seems to be more finely tuned than most of the other vampires she's met.
Skills: Languages. Grace can speak English, German, Dutch, French, and Russian. She possesses leadership skills, an intelligent, resourceful mind and tenacity (in both the good and bad meanings of the word).
Limitations: Sunlight, of course, is a problem for Grace. Her headaches seem to be among the worst if she so much as goes near indirect sunlight, and she doesn't even want to risk learning what kind of sicknesses she'd get from fully exposing herself. Holy objects and fire are avoided, as well. Aside from that, one of her major weaknesses is her lack of emotion. At times it alienates others from her, and while it hasn't hurt her yet in any way, it could.
Weaponry Training: Basic. She knows how to defend herself with a gun and knives (more so with blades) but she's no expert.
Group: The Coven
Position: Second in Command
Opinion on the group: Grace strongly believes that all supernaturals should be proud of what they are, and promotes the suppression of the human race. She enjoys being a part of the Raidan, and anyone who sees it as their enemy is automatically an enemy of hers.
Alliances: TBD
Rivalries: Jackson Webber, the rest TBD
Personality: Many who do not know Grace well would describe her as cold and rather businesslike. This stems from the fact that she simply does not like showing weakness or emotion to those she is not close with, or does not trust. Since she trusts few, that means that the majority of those who come into contact with her will see her as a woman with little to no feelings. In truth, this is not the case. Grace feels much, at times too much, she is just cautious and careful. As someone who has suffered intense abuse in her lifetime at the hands of those who would use emotions against you, she has come to see them as something not to be worn on your sleeve.
For those who do know Grace well, there is little she would keep from them. Secrets frustrate her, and she is of the mindset that lying should never be done to those you care about. For that reason, she is unfailingly honest with those in her Coven, and to those she considers friends. While at times she lacks tact concerning this, most appreciate the fact that she will never lie to them simply to make them feel better. It is white lies, Grace says, that can hurt the most. Because she is so honest with others, she expects the same courtesy to be used when dealing with her. A fail-proof way to lose Grace's small amount of trust in you, or make her your enemy, is to lie to her in even the slightest of ways.
In the same vein, even if Grace does not like you, or considers you to be her enemy, if you are honest with her and upfront about your feelings, she will respect you. It doesn't matter if she wishes you were dead, or plans to kill you herself, so long as you do not lie to her, she will find you a worthy enemy. That isn't to say that she will have any misgivings about seeing you dead, because she won't. It just means that she won't be hell-bent on seeing you brutally tortured. Respect with Grace equates a clean death, as only the unworthy should be humiliated beyond repair. It doesn't necessarily make the most sense, but it's a strict code that Grace lives by.
When it comes to humans, Grace holds the belief that they are nothing but a meal or toy. As she feels they are completely without worth, she has zero problem disposing of them. Her early training in torture by her maker has stayed with her, and while at one time it bothered her to inflict pain on others, she greatly enjoys it now. In her eyes, there is nothing wrong in treating humans this way. Nor does she seem to care that her fondness for killing children might be considered unseemly by some. All that matters is her enjoyment of it, and she certainly doesn't care that she was at one point in the same position as these humans.
Men present somewhat of a problem for Grace. As she was raised in a time when women were treated as less, and often told what to do rather than asked, she has trouble being bossed around by men. That's not to say that she won't do what they ask, but it upsets her, makes her irritable and occasionally causes her to lash out violently on innocent victims. Truly the only men she will listen to and obey without question (or being annoyed about it) are Geoffrey, her coven leader and a handful of other powerful leaders. Regardless, she trusts far fewer men than women. There are perhaps two or three that she would implicitly hand over her trust to, and Geoffrey is not one of them. She might obey him, and heed his word, but she's never truly trusted him.
History:
1619-1647 as Humility Cooper
Humility Cooper was born in Leiden, Netherlands and was orphaned by the age of nine months. Her mother's sister, Ann Tilley, took it upon herself to care for the young girl, and came to gain guardianship of Humility before returning to England with her. From that point on, she raised her as if she were her own. It was difficult, as Ann already had several children of her own, as well as having in her care another of her siblings' children, Henry Sampson. She managed, however, and provided a fairly loving environment for Humility.
At the time, religious persecution was running rampant in that part of the world, and seeking to escape it, Ann and her family chose to make the voyage on the Mayflower to the Americas. It was a terribly rough journey, though Humility would remember none of it. By this time, she was over a year old but still too young to know anything about what was happening. Looking back on her life, she considers this an extremely good thing, though she does despair of not remembering her aunt, or surrogate family.
The first winter that they were in Plymouth, the Tilley family succumbed to the sickness that killed many of the other settlers. The only ones left behind were Elizabeth Tilley, Humility and Henry. Both Henry and Humility were returned to England, while Elizabeth remained in the Americas. It became common belief that Humility died upon returning to the Americas, but the truth was that she did not. Simply, as an orphan, she seemed to disappear after being unceremoniously dropped off at an orphanage. No one truly cared enough to inquire as to whether or not she had actually died or lived.
At the orphanage, Humility was raised with the bare minimum. She was treated like a servant from a small age, taught to obey and do nothing that would be deemed unseemly. Knowing nothing better, she thrived in the environment, though she did learn to mistrust others greatly. The other children, not to mention the older women in charge, were not above using abuse to keep her in line. It also did not help that as she aged, she grew to be seen as an object by the male children, who during that time saw women as nothing more than a vessel to be used by them however they wished.
At age thirteen, Humility was handed off to a man who showed interest in her becoming his wife. He wasn't a wealthy man, but the orphanage had little use for her besides as a servant and were glad to be rid of her. Humility was not. While she'd been raised to believe that she should marry, give a man children, and be a doting wife, she didn't truly want to. In truth, she longed to wear pretty dresses and be allowed to simply rest without worrying about things. Of course, she wasn't allowed.
Humility married the man, Nathaniel Chatterly, and by the time she was seventeen had three children: Abigail, Matthew and Thomas. While she loved them dearly, she was incredibly unhappy with her life. Her husband was mildly abusive, and having children was much harder than she'd ever thought it would be. Not to mention she was simply tired, all the time. Never in her life had she ever wished for better circumstances more.
When a man calling himself Geoffrey Keller came into her life, he brought with him a chance for her to change all of that. Despite being married, Humility was done in by the charm with which he presented himself to her, and soon became completely enamored with him. He seemed to reciprocate her feelings, and the two soon began to have an affair. It was wrong, and being a woman of faith, Humility had her doubts about it, feeling as though she were sinning. Eventually, though she became overwhelmed with the intensity of her feelings and it mattered little.
Geoffrey offered to take her away from her life, and while it would mean abandoning her children, Humility latched onto the idea. She had no idea what Geoffrey was, and after abandoning her children, at age nineteen, and being taken to Scotland she soon found out. The first thing that Geoffrey did was brand her. It was painful, and resulted in Humility having a cross forever upon her chest, above her breasts. The second thing Geoffrey did was force Humility into human slavery, and an unwilling human donor to both himself and his vampire friends. He began calling her his 'child,' and his charming manner disappeared completely.
He was exceedingly cruel to Humility, constantly abusing her in ways that were much worse than what her husband had subjected her to. Feeling lost, alone and betrayed, Humility did not know what to do. Really, there was nothing she could do, and for four years she was little more than a 'toy' used by Geoffrey, for both blood and sex. During this time, she became used to it, though she resented it, and her self-worth plummeted drastically. Humility truly came to believe that she was nothing more than object, as she'd always been taught as a child.
Humility was twenty-three when things changed for her. At this point, Geoffrey grew tired of her as a human plaything. Changing his tactics, he began grooming her for the eventual change to vampire. Having forgotten about his initial kindness and devotion to her, Humility found it disconcerting being suddenly treated with gentleness and what could easily have been passed off as love. At first, she was hesitant to accept it, but soon she craved it and would do anything to receive kindness and gifts. This meant that Humility became a willing, though reluctant participant in the abuse and torture of other human girls, much like herself.
After almost three years, Geoffrey turned her. It was an extremely difficult thing for her to accept, as she was already feeling at odds with herself over her involvement in the abusive acts toward other girls. She was ashamed of herself, but did not know what else she could do, or where else she could go. Humility believed at this point that there was no where else she would be cared for, or spared abuse and suffering. For two years she remained with Geoffrey, learning from him all she would need to know in order to survive as a vampire. Eventually, her inner conflict won, and Humility fled to America.
1647-1694 as Remembrance Sampson
Humility's intention in fleeing to America was to see the land she had almost escaped to as a child. All her life growing up in the orphanage she had been told how she'd been taken to a different land, only to be brought back after death had destroyed her adoptive family. Humility had always wanted to see that land, to see the place where she almost had grown up. It made her wonder if her life would have been very different, if she would have been happier.
Upon arriving in the Americas, Humility went to Plymouth, seeking out those who had been on the Mayflower with her. It wasn't very difficult, but she found her cousin of sorts Elizabeth Tilley, though she now was Elizabeth Howland. Discreetly, Humility inquired about the original pilgrims. She asked if there had been any small children, babies even, that had come across with them. Elizabeth explained that there had been, and several had been born during the actual crossing.
When Elizabeth explained about the young child Humility and the boy Henry Sampson, and how they had been sent back to England, Humility couldn't help but feel saddened. Elizabeth had not been sent back, she'd been cared for, though even her second family had died. Now she was married, and happily. Humility resented her, and though she thanked her politely for her time, she vowed never to see the woman again. It took a great deal of effort not to kill her. But, there were other things that Humility wished to do.
First, she wanted to find Henry Sampson. This meant she would have to travel back to England, though she didn't do so immediately. Officially adopting the name Remembrance Sampson (as she'd already been introducing herself this way), she traveled the settled towns, finding that she cared little for them. Five years she wasted wandering aimlessly, and by the time she returned to England it was 1673. After searching for several years, it was revealed to her that Henry was alive and well. He had a wife, several children, and had no idea who any 'Humility Cooper' was when Remembrance asked.
In a fit of rage, she killed him and his entire family. After, she was distraught, incapable of reconciling her murder of small children. For nearly forty years she chose to live in absolute solitude, searching for self-forgiveness for her sins and crimes. The more time that passed, the more she grew to hate what she was, and what she had done. When Geoffrey came and found this shell called Remembrance in 1687, he refused to allow her to do this to herself any longer.
Forcibly, Geoffrey removed Remembrance (as she refused to be called anything else) from England, taking her once more to Scotland. There, he treated her with the same odd gentleness he had after deciding to turn her. His simple explanation was that now she was above man, more than God, a divine being that bowed to no one but herself. He told her that he would not allow her to wallow in self-pity, or to call herself Remembrance anymore, as he saw it as her way of constantly reminding her what she had been: a pathetic human.
Geoffrey told her that she should be proud, strong and never apologize or feel guilty for any pain inflicted upon humans by their kind. It was their right, he told her, their privilege to use them however they wanted. Though he did warn her to be careful, for if they came in numbers they could destroy them all easily enough. It took him seven years, but eventually he broke through and began to coax Remembrance into believing the same as he.
1694-1790 as Justice Keller
The next ninety-six years can mostly be summed up as experimentation. Now going strictly by Justice, she began to be reintroduced to the art of torture by Geoffrey. The more she did it, the less guilty she felt. The more blood she shed, the less human her instincts became, and eventually she no longer cared. Geoffrey groomed her, teaching her to see how weak she had once been, and how incredible she now was. He encouraged her dislike of humans, of how they had treated her, all the while allowing her to forget (and in time forgive) that he too had subjected her to torture far worse than any human hand ever had.
Soon, her dislike turned to hatred, and disgust that humans were so weak. In direct mockery of her name, Justice sought out innocent men, women and children so that she could slaughter them. Not only did she slaughter them, but she played with them, enjoying every second that they begged for their lives. It was her way of washing away her own past with the blood of others. Whatever had been done to her as a human wasn't worth remembering, because now she was so much better, so much more worthy of the world. She wasn't human, wasn't weak. Her torture was a small price to have paid for such rewards.
Careful to never be caught, Justice spent much of her time wandering from place to place, murdering when she pleased. As she never stayed in one place for long, there was little to tie her to any crimes committed. Before anyone even knew something had happened, that the poor farmer's daughter had been killed, she was already on her way to the next town or city. Geoffrey accompanied her, though she soon grew tired of his presence. In 1790, she decided to leave once more and try life on her own, only this time without the complete self-pity and acting pathetic.
1790-1820 as Chastity Martin
Her next change in name came with the desire to explore every other hedonistic desire she possibly could, along with torture. Thus, she chose Chastity, again in mockery of the saintly virtue it stood to promote. The majority of this time was spent with Chastity caught up in a whirlwind of sadistic pleasures that varied from the very time, to the horrific. She acquired many lovers, both human and vampire, and experimented with her sexuality. One notable female lover that she had was a human, Giselle. When Chastity grew tired of her, and her playacting at homosexuality, she killed Giselle. Her final act toward the woman was to remove her heart, place in a silver box and bury it. Despite the fact that she'd done it, Chastity wasn't entirely sure why. It had simply seemed 'poetic.'
Much of this time, Chastity felt was no worth remembering. It was just endless parties, filled with blood, sex and savagery. While she enjoyed it, there was really nothing that endeared her to the lifestyle. It took her thirty years to grow tired enough of it that she extracted herself from the circle of vampires that provided such a world for her to live in. She rather missed her wanderings, and the trail of murders left in her wake. Her goodbyes were easily made, and soon she was back to her solitude.
1874-1930 as Mercy Howland
As Mercy, she focused her lusts purely on children. It earned her the nickname 'The Angel of Death' because the few children that she allowed to live would return to their homes and speak of a beautiful woman dressed in white, an angel, who had given them sweets and played games with them before hurting them. Really, she was more of a myth to these places she seemed to haunt. Some thought she was a ghost, a vengeful spirit who had a grudge against children and so killed them. In truth, she just liked the way untainted children's blood tasted more than that of adults.
While she had been wandering mostly throughout Europe without a particular destination in mind, it was during this time period that she decided to revisit the place that she had been born. The Netherlands remained her home for many of these years, and in between her travels, she would nearly always return for at least three years before setting off for another four of meandering from country to country. Eventually she found her way to the Raidan and found a home among their coven of vampires, leaving her home in the Netherlands behind.
1931-2019 as Temperance Tilley
As always, when a particularly large change happened in her life, she felt the need for a new name. This time she adopted Temperance, and as she was also offered the position of second in command when the current position holder was killed, she chose to for once, listen to the advice her name gave. While she didn't exactly quit her sadistic ways, she toned things down. The more businesslike and professional side came out of her, and she thrived in the position of power. More than anything, she didn't want complete control, which made her good for a second in command position.
Rather than strive to be the most powerful, Temperance was quite willing to keep the others in line and merely enforce whatever needed to be enforced. Her loyalty, which had never really been given a chance to bloom properly, was revealed, as was her protectiveness of those she deemed her responsibility. When the devastation occurred that destroyed much of the human population, Temperance did what she could to protect her kind, and the other Supernaturals. She was also among the first to whole-heartedly embrace the concept of putting the humans in their place, finally.
2019 as Grace Carver
When she arrived in Las Vegas with her Coven, Temperance began calling herself Grace Carver. While it is not her legal name, it is the name that goes on all her business documents, and the one she gives to new acquaintances. It isn't so much that she doesn't want them to know her true name, but rather that each chapter in her life deserves a new name. Since she rather liked the name Temperance Tilley (and while she won't ever admit it, it's ties to her surrogate mother Ann Tilley) she wasn't very quick to legally change it to something else. For the time being, at least.
Extra:
• As evidence by the names she's chosen to call herself over the years, Grace has a bit of an obsession with virtues, even if her life does not necessarily reflect them.
• While she remains pristine outside of her home, when she is at home, she's most often barefoot and wearing only a nightgown.
• O- is her favorite bloodtype.
• While she takes pleasure in killing children, she for some reason cannot stand the murder of animals. It is highly displeasing to her, and she's incredibly fond of cats, even if they do not share the sentiment.
• Grace has several snakes, ball pythons, named Emmeline and Marisa.
• She is not a romantic person, finds relationships to be tiresome, and refuses to even attempt them.
• Actually wouldn't mind sharing her apartment with another of her coven, but feels that asking someone to move in with her would be a sign of weakness.
Playby: Held bytruebornstark, Scarlett Johansson.
Journal name; blood-thirstyblood_thirsty
Blurb; This vampire might look innocent from afar, but she's got an insatiable lust for the blood of children and a fondness for torturing them before death. Of course, children aren't always easy to come by, and the next best thing is the blood of a virgin. Either gender will do. Remember, mercy is a foreign concept to her, so don't expect to be able to beg your way out if she's got you locked away as a future meal.
Title; The Angel of Death
Picture; You'll have to crop it to fit, but I really like this picture. Of course, if you don't like it that's fine!
Third person roleplaying sample:
Grace sat by the window, staring out at the city. The bright lights seemed garish, but that was only because she was feeling particularly nostalgic about eras long gone and buried. On any other night, at least normally, she would have found the brilliance of them somewhat beautiful. A stunning show that would have rendered her speechless if she'd still been human. In any case, this wasn't something she typically enjoyed, sitting in a dark room, staring out at the modern world, feeling homesick for lives lived hundreds of years ago. In fact, it made her feel slightly pathetic.
Over the years, she had come to the conclusion that dwelling on the past was distasteful. Geoffrey had taught her that. Grace had always valued the lesson, yet here she was doing exactly the opposite. Though, in her defense, it wasn't entirely what had been done in those lifetimes that she missed. It was the quiet. In this modern world everything was just so loud. There was nowhere in the cities that one could go to hear true silence. Usually this wasn't a problem for Grace, but tonight she longed for the peace and stillness that such utter quiet could bring. The only sound she wanted to hear was that of nature, of her own breathing and heart beating.
With a sigh, she stood up, closing the heavy black drapes. At night Grace tended to leave them open, only shutting them during daylight hours. Tonight, she wanted nothing to do with the view having them open would bring. Yet, what could she do to distance herself from it? Nothing. There would always be the subtle buzz of electricity, even if she had sound proofed her apartment against the noises of city life that drifted up from the streets and club. Even if she took the time to leave the city, she would still be thrusting herself right into the middle of it in order to leave. It was pointless.
Really, Grace felt she only had two options. She could either stay in her apartment wishing for another life and time, or she could simply quit feeling this way and go about living in the world she currently resided in. It took all of three seconds to make the decision. Grace dressed quickly, opting for lower heels than normal, paired with dark jeans and a crisp, short-sleeved white button up shirt with a red cross stitched on the lapel. She didn't bother with make-up, as she still had some on from earlier before she'd come home, and left her hair down. She was as ready as she ever would be, considering how she felt.
With another sigh, she left her apartment, taking the elevator down two floors to the nightclub. The music was loud, too loud, but what better way to force yourself to get over feeling wistful for a quieter time than to allow the thumping bass of the modern world to resonate inside yourself? Grace could feel the music in her chest, drowning out the feel of her own heart beating within it. Her eyes quickly landed on one of the waitresses, a young vampire that also lived in the apartments above the club. Smiling, Grace made her way toward her. Perhaps conversation with a fellow vampire she found mildly pleasing would be a better distraction. At least, she hoped.
